Our Staff
Doctor
Kyle Faust , DVM
|
I’m Dr. Kyle Faust, veterinarian and owner of Pet Health Clinic. I grew up in Virginia and Florida and at the age of 10 became interested in veterinary medicine. In high school, I joined a veterinary club and started volunteering at vet clinics and a humane society. The undergraduate degrees I earned were in biology and chemistry at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. I then graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 and have since worked in Virginia and South Carolina. Most recently, I operated a single vet practice near Williamsburg, Va. for six years. I am now happy to be back in southwest Virginia, practicing what I love and closer to much of my family. My wife, Susan, and I have been married for years and we are blessed with an energetic young son named Robbie who loves trains. Through the years we have had many cats and dogs as pets, most of which were rescued strays. My interests are hiking, swimming, and spending time with our son. | |

Dr. Christa Clarke I'm Dr Christa Clarke. I graduated from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. I have lived in Daleville since '95 and have worked part time at the Pet Health Clinic since March 1999. I have 3 children, a geriatric dog, a huge goofy Golden Retriever, one hamster, one Beta fish, and one allergic husband - or we would have more furry pets. I do have the occasional "but I had to bring it home honey and nurse it back to health-we won't keep it long, only till it's healed" pet. | View |
Pam Ferrante , DVM Dr. Ferrante is a relief vet who has been with us for years and is now working more regularly with us, about 2 days a week. We at the Pet Health Clinic have always been impressed with the care of her patients as well as her medical expertise. If you get a chance to meet Dr. Ferrante, we know that you will like her as much as we do! Also, if you haven't guessed, she is camera shy.
Technician
Tammy, L.V.T. Tammy, Licensed Vet Technician and Office Manager, Hello, my name is Tammy. I came to the Pet Health Clinic in the summer of 1991 after graduating from Blue Ridge Community College as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. My career path was an easy and natural choice for me, as animals both large and small had always been apart of my life. Cisco, my pinto pony, was a long time companion, coming into my life when I was six years old (he was six also) and staying with me until his passing at the age of twenty eight. The bond between we humans and our animals is one I have great respect for and I am dedicated to the quality of life we can provide them. In 2001 a new opportunity presented itself to me as I began formal training to become more involved with the business side of the clinic. After completing that training in January of 2002, I assumed the position of Practice Manager which offers me the challenge of developing, training and retaining a friendly, qualified staff to meet your needs. A reflection on my fifteen year relationship with the Pet Health Clinic offers only one conclusion from me. There is truly no other place nor no other team I would rather work with. | View |
Melanie, L.V.T.
My name is Melanie and I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician here at the clinic. I can usually be found in the back of the clinic helping out in surgery, radiology, and with general treatments of our in-house patients. I have been an assistant here since May of 1999, and after three years of night classes, finally graduated as an LVT and have increased my responsibilities throughout the clinic. I am married to a wonderful man and we have two children, a boy 16 and a girl 11. I have one dog and two cats and consider them to be my four-legged children. I am also a graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies), I majored in Dairy Science and graduated from there only two days before starting my work here at Pet Health Clinic. I enjoy my job tremendously and look forward to helping you with your pets. | View |

Maurice
Hi, I’m Maurice. I came to the Pet Health Clinic as a young Sweet Gum sapling after the original buildings (the laundramat and restaurant) were remodeled in 1987 and Pet Health Clinic came into being. I was a gift from Dr. Caputo’s Mom and Dad. I have grown into a large tree over the years and loom over the property to be a home to many happy birds that spend time in the gardens around me. My smiling face greets clients as they enter the building. Stop by next time you’re in and say "Hi" to me. |

Erin Hi there! My name is Erin. I was born and raised in Clifton Forge, Virginia, about 35 minutes north of the clinic. I am the "mom" of two fuzzy feline girls, an older tortie named Izzy and a younger calico named Abbi. In April of 2008 I joined the Pet Health Clinic Team. Being a vet assistant has been a very rewarding experience for me. I have always had a deep love for animals and the joy they bring to our lives. I find myself looking forward to going to work every day. I am one of the fortunate few who can say "I love my job!"

Wilbur
I’m Wilbur, the clinic cat. I was born in May of 2003 on the hillside in a brush pile overlooking Roanoke Road. When I was just a little guy, Dr. Caputo rescued me and took me in rather than let me grow up on my own outside. I have a characteristic look with my natural short bobbed tail, which is how I got my name. The staff named me Wilbur since they thought I looked like a pig, naming me after the famous pig in the book Charlotte’s Web. At first I was up for adoption, but then Dr. Caputo decided to keep me around. I have my own cage in the cat ward, which I stay in during the day when other pets are visiting, but I wander around the clinic at night and during the weekends. I know where all the treat jars are in the exam rooms. I earn my keep by being a blood donor for cats that need blood transfusions. I love my Nu Cat vitamins and my raw chicken treats. | View |
